Chauvin was just the eighth cop convicted of murder since 2005, thanks to a system that encourages killer cops.

Officer Derek Chauvin was convicted on all three charges against him in the killing of George Floyd. Since 2005, American cops have killed over 15,000 citizens while on duty. Of the 1,127 people killed by police in 2020, only 277 of them were suspected of a violent offense. The majority of police killings involve calls in which there was no crime or the suspect was only suspected of non-violent offenses. The cops who killed Elijah McClain, Andrew Finch, Kameron Prescott, Daniel Shaver, Charles Roundtree Jr., Stephon Clark, and countless other completely innocent individuals — all got away with it. This is not okay. The verdict is a major victory for police accountability activists and people were literally crying with joy in the streets of Minneapolis. It's just one battle in a war Americans have been losing for decades. The fight for justice will continue to be a long, long way from a victory for justice for all Americans and police accountability is a long way to go, as this verd

Police Lobbies caught Blatantly mendacity to defend qualified Immunity

As the PBWW website has reported, when it  involves  police accountability, one overarching question remains. ‘Do  we would like   to measure   in an exceeding  society whereby  enforcement  officials can completely violate a person’s constitutional rights  and find  away with it?’ For our society to be free,  the solution   to its  question must be  a convincing , powerful, unwavering, ‘Hell No!’ Sadly, police in America who violate the rights of citizens currently enjoy this lack of accountability all  due to  the incredibly flawed legal doctrine of Qualified Immunity. The Supreme Court created qualified immunity in 1982.  therewith  a novel invention, the court granted all  establishment  immunity for violating constitutional and civil rights unless the victims  of these  violations can show that the rights were “clearly established.” The court held in Harlow v. Fitzgerald that government actors are entitled  to the current  immunity  because of  the “need  to shield  officials wh

Cops Strip Search 6 Kids, Including a Toddler, After Mom Took Too Long to Buy Muffins

In the land of the free, taking ten minutes  during a  store  to shop for  muffins is  like  robbing a bank or selling heroin. At least  that is the  way it played out when Holly Curry ran inside the Cobbler's Cafe  to shop for  her six children some muffins for breakfast and came out ten minutes later  to seek out  two cops  expecting  her. This visit from police would end with all six  of these  kids being stripped naked by police and a family's rights being severely violated. The good news is that in  a particularly  rare more, the cops who strip-searched children and threatened their mother were just denied qualified immunity. As Reason Magazine reports  in the week  , Curry sued the cop  and therefore the  caseworker, insisting that the day she was investigated for  maltreatment  ,  the 2  authorities so overstepped their bounds that  they ought to  not be afforded qualified immunity. In other words, their behavior was so egregious,  that they had  to require  responsibi
