DA Claims Video Justifies Cops Executing Unarmed Father of 7 — Spoiler Alert, It Does NOT

Andrew Brown Jr. was unarmed when he was "executed by agents of the state callously carrying out the deadly and senseless war on drugs" Brown's family disagrees with the DA's decision to clear the cops involved, calling it "both an insult and a slap in the face" The deputies were then reinstated and are back on duty. The DA refused to publicly release an actual copy of the body camera footage but played parts of it during a press conference. The video shows multiple angles of cops surrounding Brown's car before dumping over a dozen rounds into the unarmed father of 7 as he drove away. The prosecutor's office claimed Brown ignored their commands to get out of his vehicle and despite the fact that he had no guns or weapons, Brown deserved to be executed. "Mr. Brown's death, while tragic, was justified because Mr.Brown's actions caused three deputies to reasonably believe it was necessary to use deadly force to protect themselves and others," DA said. Authorities were executing a search warrant on April 21 when they shot and killed Andrew Brown. Brown was suspected of selling drugs to willing customers, and he was executed for it. Brown hadn't harmed anyone and wasn't accused of a violent crime or even theft. "To say this shooting was justified, despite the known facts, is both an insult and a slap in the face to Andrew's family," the family's attorneys said. The shooting was ruled a homicide by an independent autopsy conducted by Brown's family, and all the bullets hit him from the back of the head. The family is calling for an independent investigation of the shooting and a change in the law to make it harder for law enforcement to kill suspects in suspected drug sales in the U.S. to sell arbitrary substances deemed illegal by the state.
